1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Legacy Letters ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.

2. Description of Service

Legacy Letters allows users to create, store, and schedule delivery of written, audio, and video messages for loved ones. Messages can be triggered by specific dates, life milestones, or posthumous verification through designated trusted contacts.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized use.

4. User Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and deliver your content as directed by your delivery settings. We do not use your content for training machine learning models or for any purpose other than providing the Service.

5. Subscription & Payments

Legacy Letters offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Scheduled messages will still be delivered according to their triggers even after cancellation. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

6. Message Delivery

We make best efforts to deliver messages according to your configured triggers. Delivery depends on valid recipient contact information and functional email services. We cannot guarantee delivery if recipient email addresses are invalid or if messages are filtered by spam systems. Posthumous delivery requires verification from your designated trusted contacts.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service for unlawful purposes, to harass or threaten others, to send spam or unsolicited messages, or to distribute content that is harmful, fraudulent, or infringes on others' rights. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Data & Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your information. All content is encrypted at rest and in transit.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legacy Letters shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to failed or delayed message delivery.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may export your vault data before termination. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
